Today, the institute has one of the best Libraries of the state. The institute is already a recognised centre of research for M.Phil and Ph.D. The process of setting up a faculty with eminent scholars for guiding the pursuit of learning and research has already begun. There are plans to set up special courses in creative writing. A research journal also is included in the future programmes.

One of the most important projects is a literary museum where exhibits that highlight the gradual evolution and growth of the Malayalam language and literature will be on show. There will be audio-visual presentation covering a vast area of knowledge and history. The construction of the building is progressing according to schedule. It is expected that when completed this unique museum will be a major attraction to students, scholars and the general public.

All these projects are well under way and are expected to be completed on schedule.
